The past two months + have been an incredibly wild time, and by wild I mean I’ve been drawing non-stop for around 60 days. Working on Mighty Morphin Power Rangers x Usagi Yojimbo from BOOM! Studios has been a dream come true, and I learned SO MUCH working on the book. Once it’s out (September 25th!) I’ll be posting some process work, and breaking down my experience drawing the book. It was something I’ll always hold close to the heart, and from head to toe, it was a pleasure working with everyone involved.
So, now that the art is wrapped, it’s back to some self-published comics. I’m wrapping up Samurai Grandpa II (Book One) over the next couple months and getting the next Seven Rays of the Sun book ready. Which… let’s have a look!
Things are heating up in the world of Bonder Bouts, and the gloves are off. Honestly, part of me feels bad for what the characters go through in this second book in the Illümon series, but hey—that’s what happens when you pit dangerous monsters against each other for sport. Expect more soon!
There’s also more Samurai Grandpa II pages on the way, which I’ll be painting on Twitch in the next week or so. You can watch two days a week here!
Lastly, for now, here’s a compilation of the previews I’ve been able to share from MMPR x Usagi. I’d love to share more, but for now, here are a few snippets as we head into the release. Pre-order this one at your local comic shop or online if you’d like it for the collection! It’s a 40 page book, which is one of my favourite formats to work in. Between 40-90 pages is the sweet spot personally. I’d love to start experimenting with black and white comics in a newsprint / manga format down the line too. For now, here’s a peek at MMPR x Usagi!
